Shifts in rhizospheric bacterial communities of perennial ryegrass after organic and inorganic fertilization

The dataset comes from a 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing experiment using metagenomic DNA from rhizosphere soil samples of Lolium perenne L. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of different fertilization treatments (anaerobic digestate, urea, or the combination of both) on bacterial community structure, alpha diversity, and predicted functional profiles. The study was conducted in the greenhouse under a complete randomized design.
Métodos
The study was conducted in the greenhouse under a complete randomized design with four fertilization treatments: unfertilized control, anaerobic digestate, inorganic fertilizer (urea), and combined fertilizer (urea + anaerobic digestate). Fertilizers were added at the same total dose (106 mg N-NH4+ g-1 soil, equal to 140 kg N-NH4+ ha-1). DNA was extracted from soil samples using the commercial kit ADN Puriprep-Suelo kit (Inbio Highway, Tandil, Argentina). Sequencing was conducted at the DNA Service Laboratory, Roy J. Carver Biotechnology Center, University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign, United States) using the primers V4_515F_New (5'-GTGYCAGCMGCCGCGGTAA-3') and V4_806R_New (5'-GGACTACNVGGGTWTCTAAT-3') on an Illumina MiSeq flowcell for 251 cycles from each end of the fragments (2x250 nt reads)
